Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: August 2026 | westcoastfencing.com | CCB #234471
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before requesting services from West Coast Fencing. By submitting an estimate request, accepting a proposal, or authorizing work, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Services & Estimates
West Coast Fencing provides fencing installation, gate and arbor construction, retaining wall installation, kennel installation, and related services to residential and commercial customers along the Oregon Coast.
Estimates are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issuance. Prices are subject to change after 30 days due to fluctuations in material costs, fuel, and labor. A written estimate or proposal must be approved by the customer before any work begins.
Estimates are based on the scope of work described at the time of the visit or photo submission. Changes to the project scope after estimate approval may result in revised pricing (see Change Orders, Section 5).
2. Payment Terms
50% Deposit: A deposit equal to 50% of the total estimated project cost is required to secure your project on our schedule and to order materials. Work will not be scheduled or materials ordered until the deposit is received.
Final Payment: The remaining balance is due upon completion of the project, when the customer is fully satisfied with the work. West Coast Fencing will not request final payment until the customer has had the opportunity to inspect the completed installation.
Accepted Payment Methods: Cash, check, and electronic payment (if available). Payment by check should be made payable to West Coast Fencing.
Returned Checks: A fee of $35 will be assessed for any returned check. Unpaid balances are subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month (18% per year) after 30 days.
Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered.
3. Scheduling & Project Timeline
West Coast Fencing will make reasonable efforts to complete your project within the timeframe communicated at the time of scheduling. Timelines are estimates and may be affected by the following:
• Weather conditions that make safe or quality installation impossible
• Permit processing delays from local jurisdictions
• Material availability or shipping delays beyond our control
• Customer-requested changes to scope or timing
• Site conditions not disclosed or visible at the time of estimate
We will communicate with you as soon as reasonably possible if delays arise. West Coast Fencing is not liable for damages resulting from scheduling delays caused by factors outside our control.
4. Permits & Compliance
West Coast Fencing will obtain all required permits for your project as part of our standard service. Permit fees are the responsibility of the customer and will be included in the project estimate when applicable.
We are fully licensed, bonded, and insured in the state of Oregon (CCB #234471). All work is performed in accordance with applicable local codes and ordinances. Customers are responsible for ensuring property boundary information is accurate. West Coast Fencing is not liable for installations made based on incorrect boundary or survey information provided by the customer.
If your property is located in a homeowners association (HOA) area, you are responsible for obtaining HOA approval before work begins. West Coast Fencing is not responsible for fines or removal costs resulting from work performed without required HOA approval.
5. Change Orders
Any changes to the approved scope of work — including additions, deletions, or modifications — must be agreed upon in writing by both parties before work proceeds. Change orders may affect the project price and timeline.
Verbal agreements to change project scope are not binding. All scope changes must be documented and signed by the customer.
6. Property Access & Site Preparation
The customer is responsible for providing reasonable access to the work area, including clearing vegetation, debris, or personal property from the fence line prior to the crew’s arrival. Failure to provide access may result in rescheduling and additional trip charges.
The customer warrants that they have the legal right to authorize work on the property described in the estimate. West Coast Fencing is not responsible for disputes between neighbors, landlords, tenants, or property co-owners.
West Coast Fencing will take reasonable care to protect your property during installation. However, some disturbance to soil, grass, or landscaping near the installation area is inherent to the nature of the work and is not grounds for claim or dispute.
Call 811 (Oregon Utility Notification Center) is required before any digging. West Coast Fencing will initiate this process as part of our standard project preparation. The customer must disclose the location of any private utilities (irrigation, low-voltage lighting, etc.) not covered by the 811 locate service.
7. Warranty
West Coast Fencing stands behind our work with the following warranties:
• Workmanship: 1 year on all labor and installation
• Ornamental Iron: 25-year product warranty
• Vinyl Fencing: 20-year product warranty
• Wood Fencing: 1-year material warranty
Warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and conditions. They do not cover:
• Damage from accidents, misuse, or abuse
• Damage from acts of nature (wind, flooding, falling trees, earthquakes)
• Normal weathering, fading, or wear over time
• Damage caused by customer modifications to the installation
To make a warranty claim, contact us at (541) 267-5677 or info@westcoastfencing.com within the applicable warranty period.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Oregon law, West Coast Fencing’s total liability for any claim arising from services rendered shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer for the specific project in question.
West Coast Fencing is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost profits, loss of use, or property damage not directly caused by our installation work.
9. Cancellation Policy
Customers may cancel a project by providing written notice to West Coast Fencing. Cancellations made before materials are ordered will receive a full refund of the deposit.
If materials have already been ordered or delivered at the time of cancellation, the deposit will be applied to cover any restocking fees, return shipping costs, and labor already performed. Any remaining deposit balance will be refunded.
West Coast Fencing reserves the right to cancel or postpone a project in the event of unsafe working conditions, non-payment, or other circumstances beyond our control.
